PRINCIPLES OF REMUNERATION

The current term used to describe the payment arrangements for people at work is reward, and this is associated closely with the idea of linking payment to performance. This, in turn, is inextricably linked with the idea of Human Resource Management that has the potential to transform the people management processes in and around organisations.

In this course, we  investigate the strategic approach to reward, job evaluation and performance pay.

You will need to read Chapters 31, 32 and 33  from the textbook Human Resource Management (1998) 4th edition, Derek Torrington and Laura Hall. Hemel Hempstead: Prentice Hall International.
