Using Manual Techniques to Assist Clients to Move from One Position to Another Supporting clients  / Maintaining privacy and dignity of clients  / Safe techniques  / Problems encountered during moving and handling clients / Unsafe methods 

Using Equipment to Assist Clients to Move from One Position to Another
Different types of moving equipment  / Choosing appropriate aids  / Prepare to use equipment /Practicing safe moving and handling techniques using equipment  / Reporting equipment faults / Procedures for cleaning equipment and returning to storage after use

Reducing the Adverse Effects of Pressure
Causes of damage to the skin / Effects of pressure sores on the client /Importance of preventing pressure sores  / Complete Risk Assessment documentation  / Make practical interventions consistent with the plan of care  / Inform clients and carers about the causes and prevention of pressure sores and encourage self-management

This programme serves as an ideal progression towards a Level 2 course in Safety Compliance.

At the end of the course you will receive an award issued by Stonebridge Associated College. If however you would like to gain the full ASET accreditation for the course it will be necessary to complete one additional final examination, this examination can be done from home/work. The cost of gaining the full ASET accreditation will be a further £25.00 in addition to the price quoted above.
