Who it’s Intended for

The Foundation Certificate for Care Workers has been written for individuals working in the care sector. This programme has been written specifically to adhere to the TOPSS England Foundation standards.

The Award

This course is Accredited and Certificated by ASET as a Level 2 Award.

Understanding and Dealing with Abuse and Neglect
Different types of abuse and neglect / Signs, symptoms and effects of abuse and neglect / How to respond to allegations and incidents of abuse and neglect.

Basic Care Skills
Help clients to maintain their personal hygiene / Meeting clients dietary needs / Understanding the prevention and treatment of pressure sores.

Providing Support for Individuals
Maintaining clients leisure and recreational activities / Supporting clients through change / Supporting clients through loss.

Progression Potential

This programme supports progression to the ASET Level 2 Certificate in Care Practice and NVQ Level 2 / 3 in Care.

At the end of the course you will receive an award issued by Stonebridge Associated College. If however you would like to gain the full ASET accreditation for the course it will be necessary to complete one additional final examination, this examination can be done from home/work. The cost of gaining the full ASET accreditation will be a further Ł25.00 in addition to the price quoted above.
